EwB’s first South African project manager to speak at VSAFF

All proceeds from the Vancouver South African Film Festival go towards the important work that Education without Borders has been doing in South African township schools since 2002.

EwB is excited to announce that its first South African-born project manager, Vimbai Nyatsambo, has arrived in Vancouver and will speak at the VSAFF Opening Gala on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Denman Cinemas.

Vimbai grew up in Johannesburg, moved to Cape Town in 2004 to study at the University of Cape Town, and has a Masters in Social Development.

Vimbai writes: “In my second year at UCT, the reality of what life is hit me. I was placed on this earth to fulfil a purpose. This lies in being an individual who helps create opportunities that allow people to live lives that they value.

“My hunger for self development and empowerment made me realize that my purpose is to extend what I got from my opportunities to those who don’t have access to the same.”

Vimbai’s position is funded by EwB, and we also thank the generous donors who made her trip to Vancouver possible.

We hope you have a chance to meet and mingle with her at the VSAFF and learn more about where your money is going and why it’s important!
